How to bleed a radiator
If you’re having problems with your heating you may need to bleed your radiators. Check if the top is significantly cooler than the bottom – if it is, it needs bleeding.
Firstly, open the air bleed valve, usually found at the top of the radiator.
You will need a radiator key, which you attach and turn until you hear the air inside the radiator hissing.
Be ready to close the key as soon as water starts to escape. Wrap a towel around the valve to catch any water that bleeds out.
You can do this in the same way as above but by continuing to bleed water out until any dirty, rusty water runs clear.
